Hello everyone!
I hope you all had a good Thanksgiving break and
aren't too busy with school! We need finalize who all is going to the
National Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah February 11-14 ( http://www.iaestenatlconf.org/). Its going to be lots of fun and a great opportunity to learn about IAESTE and the international workplace. You can access our trip report from last national conference here.
If you are interested in attending, please read and complete the application form below by noon December 14, 2009. Don't
worry if you are not active with the chapter YET (this will be a good
opportunity to start!). We would love each one of you to come!
Here's some more info:
*We will be leaving on Thursday, so
we will miss classes on Friday (this shouldn't be much of a problem)
and maybe some later classes on Thursday (professors are usually pretty
understanding if you miss class for a conference).
*The total cost per person will be approximately $525, however the
local chapter will pay for in the very least $100 of this. We are
currently working on getting corporate sponsors and in January we will
have some fundraisers to help cover more of the cost, so I hope the
cost isn't too much of an issue.
Let me know if you will be attending or are interested in going asap.
Have a good weekend!! 2010 IAESTE National Conference Application2010 IAESTE National Conference Application |

The International IAESTE Day ( http://www.iaesteday.com/) was first organized in six countries in 2005. It can serve as an annual occasion for the global promotion of IAESTE as well as for the continuation and the establishment of good relationships with companies, universities and students.
Although we won't be competing in the IAESTE Day competition, let's celebrate this day in a unique UH sort of way. I'll be in the engineering building 1st floor "engineering pit" area from 12:30 to 2:30 with some "historical" IAESTE US promotional items that we can submit to the Daily Cougar's 25 year Time Capsule along with a Sharpie. Come by to sign your name, to leave a note, or to find out more about IAESTE!
P.S. If you missed the yesterday's meeting, presentation is available on the web
http://docs.google.com/present/view?id=dxtrfz9_54cqkbqmfv
Update - IAESTE UH submitted a group item signed by its member and their friends to the Daily Cougar time capsule in celebration of 2009 International IAESTE day. Inside the IAESTE freesbie sandwich, some of IAESTE tchotchkes (pens, stress balls, luggage tag, and even a lip balm), membership brochures were included!
